Lloyd is a trained artist, a graduate of the Maryland Institute of art in Baltimore. His career was with the bureau of printing and engraving in Wahington D.C. Lloyd is regarded as the foremost carver of American folk art walking sticks and canes, many of which were sold at the great New York city auction houses.
